VISION:

A world where all girls and women are supported to live a fulfilling life, their rights attained, and live in dignity.

 MISSION:

My Experience Foundation is committed to facilitating the betterment of underprivileged girls and young mothers’ lives.

OBJECTIVES:

1. To equip girls and women with hands on skills and knowledge for self-employment thus improving their livelihood

2. Offer a second chance to sexually abused girls and women to stand on their very own again and live a fulfilling life.

3. Offer both material and emotional support to underprivileged communities, thus live a fulfilling life.

4. Expanding educational horizon for children.

5. Offering sexual abuse victims rehabilitation, a chance to tell their story and most importantly a second chance to take life back into their own hands.

We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to girls, you can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful. Otherwise, you would threaten the man. Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriage. I am expected to make my life choices always keeping in mind that marriage is the most important”.

— Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Following the pandemic, we need to be vigilant of the virus’ physical risks psychological toll, what comes with social distancing, and the potential fear of being ostracized for those infected. It’s important that we remind ourselves, and everyone around us, not to panic. We can’t control what’s around us, but we can control our responses.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from covering wars, disasters, and all manner of emergencies, we are part of a wider society and we each must do our part to maintain the calm. The best place to start is at home, keeping ourselves resilient and helping others around us—the  elderly trapped at home, the neighbors who can’t take care of their children and let’s wash our hands and wear masks except those with underlying conditions
